Our studies and analysis so far – a product of human intellect, ingenuity, hardwork, dedication and perseverance- have helped us understand a good number of the mysteries of a nature that appears quite reluctant ‘to yield its secrets’ readily.  We have now forged a vast, complex and exciting picture of the universe – from its sub atomic to its extragalactic range.  However, those well known words of Sir Issac Newton – put forward nearly two and a half centuries ago – are very much relevant and appropriate even today.
Newton is reported to have said :
“I do not know what I may appear to the world but to myself I seem to have been like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself now and then, finding a smoother pebble, or a prettier shell than ordinary, while the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me”

         The “pebbles”, “shells” and “oceans”, to be “found” and “discovered”, by the physicists of today and tomorrow, are still very many and very exciting!  The Board invites all Physics learners, self learners and life-long learners  to join this ‘challenging and unending quest and contest of finding “smoother pebbles”, “prettier shells” and “exploring undiscovered oceans of truth”.  The resulting “intellectually satisfying” and “practically useful” awards would then be ‘savoured’, enjoyed and appreciated not only by the “contestants” but by the human society as a whole!
