In compliance with section 5(2) of the Act, effective operationalization of the mandatory provisions of the RTI Act, have been ensured in CBSE. The public Relations Officer has been appointed as the Chief Public Information Officer (CPIO). All the Heads of the Department have been designated as the Appellate Authority. In addition, all the Regional Officers have been appointed as the Appellate Authorities for the Regions and the Assistant Secretaries have been appointed as Public Information Officers (PIO) in the regions. Public Information Counter has been set up in the Public Relations Unit. This counter functions during office hours on all working days. Public Information Counters have also been set up in the Regional Offices under direct supervision of Public Information Officers.
